a not so snowy update, 11/19/2015

Hey everybody! It is me again about 2 days after my last post (not posted yet) and I'm a little out of date with penguin man and guess what was on the ground last year, snow!

Hopefully, it will snow a little but not like last year. here is a blog from last year.

I think I personally like it better this year. Last year, I felt a little "controlled". I mean we couldn't go anywhere! It was REALLY cold out there! And today, the winds died down a bit. It's actually perfect today! It's 60 degrees today! But, I hope we get just a small bit of snow for Christmas. Because Christmas without snow - that's just wrong, man!

Part 2, revised

Part 2:  Trip to Coruscant

Where were we? Oh, right. Let's get back into the story.

Joe, Cleaver and Voltaire where Jedi and Delphin was a clone. Oops, forgot to introduce myself. My bad. My name is Kiwi. I'm just someone who works somewhere, but I'm gonna tell you where because the name is very hard to pronounce. I was at work and a little green guy named Yoda contacted me. And then, I found myself in Coruscant! I also forgot to tell you I'm also known as - only by my friends - Penguin Man - Defender of the Arctic. Pretty cool, huh?

Yoda gathered all of us to stop my enemy, Dr. Walrus. Apparently, his right hand man, Mr. Koala is also a Sith. And both of them lead an army of galactic creatures! Anyway, my friends and I have to stop them and save both this universe and my universe. So, yeah. I'm used to this type of stuff because I do it a lot.  

I don't know how he's going to do it, but I know it's going to be bad. Dr. Walrus only has the force from the dark side and his vast knowledge of inventions and villainy and all types of things. His side kick, Dr. Koala can be slow going at times but, trust me - one of his special powers is to bite through very hard things like titanium which is the strongest metal I can think of. So, other than the force and that power, he has tons of powers I don't even want to get into, he can be very dangerous - especially if he hasn't had his morning coffee!

So, the villains are powerful, but the good guys are even more powerful. Like, Joe. He can jumps over the highest walls. And, me, even though this may not be helpful in a fight unless I'm in the artic, I can mind control other penguins. Cleaver, he can build anything within one second with his beaver related powers. He can build a very fast jet pack or a giant celestial bronze dragon that can do anything! Voltaire is Grizzly Man! He needs no explanation because you know what a bear can do!

We all needed to get our heads together. Let's tune into the conversation we had..

Yoda, "Your friends here, they are. Much to learn, there is. Hone in on all of your powers, we must, and teach the way of the Jedi. Starts now, training does."

Penguin Man, "I have ideas! But, I need to know everyone is on board!"

Joe, "Hmmm, where is Dr. Walrus anyway? I don't like his sidekick, Mr. Koala. I guess that makes sense 'cuz he is my enemy. And what happened to the other villains? Cyber Husky and the Fox? We haven't heard from those guys in a while!"

Cleaver answered for us, "According to this news site, they broke out of prison just yesterday! They are gathering more evil creatures for their army as we speak! I think their next stop is Tatooine. We should send two groups, right?"

Voltaire interjected, "Agreed. Cleaver and I will take some clones to Tatooine. Kiwi, you and Joe take Delphin and some more Clones to try and intersect them before they meet up with Darth Vader. THAT would be bad. Doesn't everyone agree?"

Delphin agreed. "That's a good idea! I wonder what Yoda thinks of our plan?"

Everyone turned to Yoda.

Yoda, "Ideal, this plan is. Go with it, we will. He-He." 

Yoda taught us some pretty cool moves. We got to meet some other Jedi and Delphin got a whole army of Clones to lead! One of the moves was a somersault. We jump over our opponent, land and then attack. Of course, we were practicing on dummies.

Kiwi (Penguin Man, in case you forgot) wondered aloud, "We're going to need weapons for this battle. And some starships, too..."

Yoda, "Hmmm, show you new weapons, I will. Follow me, you must."

And so all of us good guys followed Yoda to the Barracks. That's where all of the galactic weapons were stored. It was the size of NASA! HUGE! And to the left was a room that stored the smallest lightsaber crystal to the biggest piece of alloy. 

The weaponsmith was there to assist us. "I suggest you take this new double sided lightsaber I just made. You just have to choose the crystal. Or, let the crystal choose you. Either way, I hope you like this thing! Now, I'll get you and your friends some armor and a few more weapons to help you out." 

Kiwi, "Wow! This double sided lightsaber is cool!"

Then, all of a sudden, a blue crystal glowed. It flew right into a little compartment that was open in the saber. Apparently, I didn't need to choose the crystal, it did choose me!

  

Two or three days later, we were ready. That's the way of the Jedi! We had to finish our training quickly because of the rising threat.

I gathered my troops and gave them a pep talk.

"Coruscant is cool. So are bowties. We have to save our universe! So, let's beat some bad guys' butts!!!!!"

We got to use any space vehicle we wanted. This was cool because we didn't even know where Dr. Walrus and the other bad guys were. We were hoping they didn't meet up with Darth Vader. They would be invincible then! We'd never be able to stop them!

We were right in the middle of our search, when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, blaster fire came! It was Dr. Walrus's fleet! We found them! Just not how we wanted to.

We had a little Starfighter battle. We pushed Dr. Walrus's fleet towards a moon. I think it was Endor. It was a long and hard battle. There were no casualties. Just a couple bruises and scratches. Nothing some bandages and boo boo cream couldn't fix.

Apparently, what was left of Dr. Walrus's fleet - considering we blew up a couple of his ships - fled to the moon. I used some magic that I found I could do - thanks, Yoda! - It could keep the bad guys in but let the good guys in and out.

I could swear I could hear Dr. Walrus saying, "CURSE YOU, PENGUIN MAN! This isn't the last you will see of me! I still have most of my army! And my notorious cohorts are bringing back up! I will get you yet!"

I heard a whisper, "May the force be with you, always." I could swear it sounded like Obi Wan Kenobi.

It filled me with hope.

Author's note: Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't wrote in awhile....Let's just say I was sick for a bit. Hope you guys enjoy the story!

Part 2 of Trip to Coruscant.

Happy Anniversary, Penguin Man! Special Edition - 1st of a brand new series - Part 1! Trip to Coruscant. September 22, 2015

Hey, everybody! Guess what today is?? The anniversary of when I created Penguin Man. Cool, huh? Anyway, in celebration, I would like to introduce to you, the first of a brand new story series, a special edition Penguin Man!

Let's get to the story!

It was a beautiful morning. And while I was at work, I got a call. I answered the phone.

"Hello?", said I.

"Long distance call for Kiwi", said the operator.

(Wait, wait, wait...I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Kiwi. You may remember me from other "stories". Yeah, right....Basically, you know that I am Penguin Man - defender of the Arctic. And I will email this story to the author of my "books". Anyway, back to the story.)

"Well, where is the call from?", I asked.

The operator said, "I don't know who the caller is. But, it's from somewhere named, Coruscant??"

Where have I heard the name Coruscant before?, I thought to myself.

"I'll accept the call.", said I.

"It'll cost you $20.", said the operator.

Caller: "Hmm...Yoda, I am."

"What?!?!?!? Yoda! So, that's where I've heard the name Coruscant before. You're from Star Wars! Wait a sec, is this a prank?" , I screamed.

"A prank, it is not.", said Yoda.

"Wow! Wait, uh...if you really are Yoda, why am I talking to you on a phone and not a hologram?", I replied.

"Oops! Forgot, I did." Yoda said.

Then, all of a sudden, I felt something in my ear. I put the phone down, and there he was! In a hologram!!! WOW!!! It really was Yoda!

"Open a portal, I will. Urgent, this matter is." Yoda said via the hologram.

All of a sudden, a speaker piped up.

"Kiwi to my office! Kiwi to my office!", said my boss.

Doh, great. It was my boss trying to get me to spill the beans on where I've been on workdays. He's been suspicious of me ever since Dr. Walrus zapped him.

Speaking of Dr. Walrus. I've haven't heard from him in awhile. If you are wondering who he is, he's my arch enemy.

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a glowing portal opened up right next to me! I heard someone coming down the hall at the same time! Uh-oh! It was my boss!!! I jumped through the portal quickly. Barely made it. When my boss opened the door, I was gone!

"Huh?!?", said my boss. "Where'd he go? I could have sworn Kiwi came into the office today. I'll try him again tomorrow, or I'll just try his phone."

Once I got through the portal, I heard my phone ring.

"Briang, briang!"

"Hello?", I answered.

"Hey, Kiwi. I just called to tell you, you got a raise AND a promotion!"

"Thanks, Boss! Well, I might be out of the office for a couple of days. I have a business trip I must attend. It's super secret.", I said excitedly.

"Okay", said my boss. "See you when you get back!"

Beep, beep, beep......beep, beep, beep......

Wow. I was actually on Coruscant! (whistle) This place is amazing! Then all of a sudden, a little green guy - I guessed he was Yoda - came up and said,

"Come, you must. Lots to learn! Lots to explain!"

So, I followed him.

"Wait, where are we going?", I asked.

"Hm. To the Jedi Temple." replied Yoda.

"What, really??!! That is so cool!", said I.

Yoda started talking when we got to the temple.

"Hm. Call you here we did. He-he. Your arch enemy escaped, he did. A Jedi, You may be. Strong, the forces in you. Dr. Walrus broke out of prison, he did. Much training, there is. Need your friends help, you do. Train, you must. Of the way of the Jedi." said Yoda.

"WWHAAAATTTT????? Dr. Walrus escaped prison! That last prison was the strongest I could find! There were 2,000 guards, a very high tech security system, and it was on an island in the middle of nowhere!"

"Hm. A Sith, he is. He-he."

"Well, this is new! And what's that part about my needing my friends' help?" , said I.

"Hm. Some potential, your friends have." Yoda replied.

Joe, Cleaver and Voltaire are 3 of my friends that have been featured in my "stories". Delphin, we never got to him. But, he is basically Dolphin Man. By the looks of it, all 4 of them were already brought here. For some reason, looks like Delphin wasn't a Jedi, but a Clone leader! That's cool! But, we'll get into those details in the next part of this series.

Well. We'll take this back up when the author gets back from ballet. Don't worry, it's his boys ballet class. There is no need to laugh. Ballet is hard work!!

Que music!

April 24, 2015 Upside and Down. Happy Birthday, Hubble and Help save the oceans!

Hey, guys! This is going to be a multi blog today! One is about the ocean and one is about space. So, you might want to get ready!

Ok, let's get to writing...

The first thing is about Gyres - pronounced with a soft G. Gyre means a ring or a circle. It comes for the Greek language. They are kind of like a whirlpool, except garbage collects in the centers. They are in 5 places in the oceans. 

My opinion - I think some of the garbage that's from land that collects there, sometimes drift into the ocean and collects in one spot. This is bad because it causes the death of sea life like fish and turtles. The garbage can choke them if they try to eat it or they can get stuck in it and drown.

I think we can help by recycling more. And only throwing rocks in the ocean. We can help by keeping all of our lakes and rivers clean. We can help by cleaning up the shore of Lake Erie. Next week, Mom and I are going to clean our part of the shore.

Moving on....

Happy birthday, Hubble!!!! It's the Hubble Telescopes 25th birthday! I think Hubble has changed our perspective of space. It's shown us things like nebula's and galaxies and black holes and all kinds of cool stuff! It's giving us a better understanding of outer space. It's not so outer once you get used to it. And you know, space doesn't always go on forever. It has to stop somewhere and sometime. It's the whole spacetime thing. I don't have time explain spacetime continuum today. I think Hubble is helping us get in to space. Within the next couple of years, humans may make it to Mars! That is so cool!

April 20, 2015 What I did on Vacation

 Hi, guys! We just got back from Florida! YAY! Well, technically, we got back on Thursday. But, still....YAYYYYY!!!!

I'm gonna tell you all about my trip to Florida, starting with the 6th. 

On the 6th, which rhymes with Styx, (the river Styx from Greek Mythology) we got ready and packed our things for our trip. Daddy weighed all the bags and then we were on our way to the airport. When we got on the plane, we had to wait awhile to complete their in-flight check up. Then we took off! IT WAS SCARY in the beginning of the flight. I kinda screamed and freaked out. But, I was okay once we got going. I had fun watching a Percy Jackson movie. The 1st one was a little different from the book. The characters didn't match up. When we got off the plane, we drove to Homosassa, Fl. That's where my Grandmama lives. (FYI - Part 2 of her story is coming out soon, so stay tuned.) 

The weather in Florida was perfect. A little hot at times, I gotta admit, but nicer than here. We got to go to the beach a couple of times. We even saw dolphins once! Daddy even made a sand sea turtle for me. I named him Sandy. He was cuter the 1st time, but Lilly stepped on his shell. πάει στα κοράκια, Lilly. That's the worst 
Greek curse I can think of. It means, go to the crows. 

LEGOLAND!!!! I finally got to Legoland!!!! I had tons and tons of fun! It's better than Disney! They should make Disney jealous by making a Lego Universe! My most favorite part is when we got in. I suggest you start saving to go. Everything was made out of legos, except, of course the rides. They even made a medival stone castle, which must have taken forever. And I suggest you check out the World of Chima. One of their rides will soak you completely! From head to toe! All of your clothes get wet. It's fun!!! You get to squirt people! After I got wet, I went into the people dryer and got dried off! Couldn't they think of a cooler way to dry though? You don't want to get dried off with heat in the middle of Florida! We spent 2 days at Legoland. The second day was free! It was a special BOGO deal. We got to go on roller coasters! Which I thought was pretty fun! We found out that if you wait until the end of the day to go on rides, there are no lines! We got right on! And one roller coaster we rode twice! In the WB game zone, you get to try out a couple of the lego video games. A couple of the Batman's, the Lego Movie, and Star Wars. Daddy liked it in the game zone because it was coolest place in the park. It was REALLY air conditioned! We got to see a 4D movie about Chima! (FOR CHIMA!!!!) I loved it! It was really cool! And don't get me started on the pirate show. That took place in Pirates Cove near Cypress Gardens. You should definitely check it out. The show in the cove was a water show. We were in the splash zone, but we didn't get splashed. They were doing water ski jumps and stuff. They even a parrot! Even the parrot was made of legos! 

We saw a banyan tree in Cypress Gardens. A banyan tree is one single tree that actually looks like a bunch of trees growing together. The branches grow down. This tree is 75 years old! People in Africa live in these trees. That's how big they get.

We saw SEA TURTLES!!!!!!! Real live sea turtles! I was so excited, I cried! I saw a green sea turtle and the rarest of them all, a Kemp Ridley. That isn't something you see everyday. We saw them at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa Bay. These turtles are there because they are injured. They are so big, that even the sharks don't bother them. We saw a lemon shark and a black point shark. That was interesting. I even go to pose with someone in a turtle costume! Her name was Shelly, the loggerhead turtle. Now that was really interesting! We was some stingrays and a really big grouper, African penguins, and otters and moray eels. And there was also a nurse shark. You do know that the nurse shark is the only one that can breathe without moving.

On a glass bottom boat, we saw alligators and a lot of fish. I enjoyed that. 

We saw manatees at the reserve in Homosassa. That was really cool, too.

We went to Grandmama's church for Orthodox Easter. That will be the only time I go to her church. They use incense and the priest went a little over board with it. It was very perfumey. The priest blessed our food baskets for Easter. I liked Easter dinner, though. Grandmama had lots of company. But, they were all nice. Even Aunt Liz came! It was nice to see her and Uncle Billy. 

I had tons of fun in Florida. Here are some pics! I think I'll go back again sometime. That will be when the Lego Hotel is finished.
