This is for January 23 and January 24, 2014 - I missed a day!!!

Mom went to go see Wicked with my big sister and big brother yesterday. We didn't get a chance to write.......

Yesterday, I watched videos about Leonardo Da Vinci. What a SMART guy!!! He was an artist AND a scientist. He was most interested in flight and anatomy! Anatomy is the study of the human body. He took apart dead bodies to see what was inside and how a body worked. He studied birds to see how they fly. YAY! Many of his drawings and codices (fancy word for book) of his inventions have be tried and some really work! They modified his parachute just by putting it in the shape of a dome instead of a triangle. They changed the propeller on his helicopter from an aerial screw to a flat propeller. He also drew the Mona Lisa and sculpted a life size horse.

We got a book about him we're gonna learn more about him.

OH! We did some yoga! It was actually fun! The lady pretended to be a penguin and so did we. We're gonna to it again. It's nice for the days that are cold and we can't go out.

OH! And we threw hot water outside in the cold air! Hey, guess what happens????? IT TURNS INTO SNOW!!! How cool is that?! We tried to freeze bubbles, but the sun was out....BBBOOOOOOBBBOOOOOOOBBBOOOOOOOOO.

Today, WE DID MATH AT THE STORE!!!  It's math we can actually use! We learned about unit pricing and that the lowest price isn't always the best deal. BEWARE of the DARK TAX.  We added all of our groceries up as we placed them in the cart. Mom and I set a budget (a certain amount of money to spend on something) and tried to stick to it. Food is expensive! We had to add $20 to our budget in order to buy what we needed. But, when we went to check out, there was a difference in what we added and what we had to pay. We have to pay tax on items like toilet paper and snacks. I don't understand why.....OH AND Momma taught me a trick to go faster through the line!!! Place the UPC symbols forward for the cashier. This is so she doesn't have to search for it! She was really happy about that.

We also went to Barnes and Noble and picked up chemistry books and I finally got a poster of THE PERIODIC TABLE. There is one new element being tested in Russia!!! How cool is that!!!! (I just did the Russian dance for you. I am 1/4 Russian, you know.)

OH!!!!! I forgot!!!!! I want to build a house, a laboratory and a chemical reaction testing site UNDERGROUND!!!!!!!! It's going to be under a corn field. YAY!!! I'm gonna have a water bed!!! WOW!!!! The lab will have 2 halls on each side. One leading to my bedroom and one leading to my testing chamber. I will be testing poop bombs or any kind of chemical reactions for defense. And I'm gonna have a good laugh at the invaders when they get splatted by POOP and my chemical reactions...HAHAHAHAHA. I have to whole plan in my head.

Well, stay tuned til next week!

TO BE CONTINUED!!!!

(Happy Birthday, Connie!)

  2. William. I look forward to you posting your days' activities. Looks like you had a terrific day. Do you think your sister Lilly is a little jealous that she isn't home-schooled? You can ask her that for me. I just got off the phone with Grandma White...she told you that you and Lilly called her recently and told her about your cousins visiting you last weekend. You keep up the good work and have a terrific weekend. Love and hugs to all. Aunt Donna ♥

  3. Hi William, I look forward to reading your blog too. Yesterday I was a little worried that you still did not feel good when nothing was posted but then remembered your Mom posted the tickets for the show. Science and math were always my favorite subjects in school and I love reading about so much of the stuff I forgot about. You write about what you have learned very well and it is interesting. Oh, and I do have one suggestion when you build under a corn field be sure there is a cow pasture close by - your going to need tons of poop! (1 ton = 2000 pounds) Have a good weekend. Debbie
